A Different Kind of Discovery ...
On Wednesday night, we hosted a wine tasting event for a number of customers and prospects at Claridges . The event was very well attended, to the point that we had an unexpected “extra” guest (thanks Mark!), putting the arrangements into minor disarray – but nothing that the Claridges staff couldn’t quickly sort out. We had a great representation of our customer base including our oldest and newest customers, all getting the chance to share experiences about Tideway and sample some fabulous wine!
The tasting was hosted by Vincent Gasnier who took us on a journey of discovery into the world of wine. His obvious knowledge and enthusiasm made for a lively evening – even if he did make a joke about my tie (what was wrong with it??) Of the the 6 wines we tasted, I thought the Italian Chardonnay was excellent but the wine of the evening for me was the 2002 Chapelle-Chambertin. Congratulations go to Frank from Cap Gemini for winning the competition and the bottle …
After the tasting, we moved on to dinner where everyone had the chance to talk about what they are doing, their challenges and how Tideway is helping them. It seemed to me that regardless of whether you have 50,000 servers or 500, the issues are often the same: incomplete and/or inaccurate inventory, unknown configurations and changes, concerns over software license management, virtualization … What was obvious is that Foundation is really helping all these organizations get the right information to make better decisions.
I think the evening was a great success and I really look forward to doing it again. I want to thank everyone who attended for contributing to the discussion – next time, I want to start the round table discussion first not last!!
Finally, our own Stuart Templeton took a few pictures during the tasting which you can find here
