Storage in 8.x

WE are planning to use ADDM 8.x (we are installing 8.3.1). Is storage discovered differently than a general Host device?

Will it allow me to deal with arrays?

Summary: Tideway Services fail to start the tw_svc_model, encountering 40model failed to start service error notification

History: Business as usual, uploaded a new pattern, running queries, normal operations. Noticed ran out of disk space on /usr, however this host has the db in a secondary disk:

Actions Taken:
Purged log files that were in /usr/tideway/var/localdisk/tideway.db/logs since there were 100’s of 10M files.

Reviewed the /usr/tideway/log/tw_sc_model.log file and observed the following message:

Restarting the tideway services (after several reboots) yields the same result:

tideway: The Tideway service ‘40model’ failed to start (returned 1). Check logs.

I inspected the file /usr/tideway/var/tideway.db/data/datadir/names

-rw-rw——1 tideway tideway 196608 Nov 30 11:43 /usr/tideway/var/tideway.db/data/datadir/names

Cannot read the file as it returns garble type output.

Thoughts/Suggestion on how I can return this system to a healthy state. My previous snapshot would lose much of the scan’s I had completed during peak time this week.

Configuration to delete duplication CI

I scan Weblogic configuration on a server.
The standard Pattern use the java signature to identify an Instance.

When you change the Weblogic configuration to increase memory, the signature change too.
With ADDM, I have two CI for the same Instance with two signatures :

For Exemple :
Command : /opt/java_1.6.0.4/opt/java6/bin/IA64W/java
Arguments : -server -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m etc…
and
Command : /opt/java_1.6.0.4/opt/java6/bin/IA64W/java
Arguments : -server -Xms512m -Xmx512m -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m etc…

Is it possible to destroy an old CI immediately in ADDM to avoid duplication ?

We need to export some ADDM data model information to a csv file to then load into a database. I can see under Administration Export that there is an Export functionality but nothing reference to how to get the data from ADDDM . Can anyone advise on how to do that ?

SAN Switches are not discovered

Dear folks,

We are trying to discover the SAN Switches in ADDM 7.5 Version, after the scan we are not able to capture the all the SAN Switches are not discovered.

Please kindly let me know whether we are able to discover the all the SAN Switches, if so please tell me the procedure to discover all the SAN Switches.

Dear folks,

We are trying to discover the SAN Storage devices in ADDM 7.5 Version, after the scan we are not able to capture the SAN Storage Devices (DS 3000/4000/5000/8000, HDS VSP, HDS USPV, HDS AMS 2000, Teradata, and EMC CLARiiON) are not discovered.

Please kindly let me know whether we are able to discover the above SAN Storage Devices, if so please tell me the procedure to discover these devices.

I have checked the network supported list of ADDM 8.3 version and got some unknown device with sysObjectId.
Can any one tell me the model number of the attached sysObjectId.
