We have a new appliance setup, it is as new as I am to this new tool. We have manage to run a few discovery tasks and the synchronization was OK too. My question is:

Is there a way that I could get all software discovered so far synchronized with the CMDB without any filters configuration. This is a development box, and I want to see if everything discover so far can be dumped in our Dev CMDB 7.6.

thanks.

Welcome to the forum Andherson.

Th CMDB sync in ADDM 8.2 is designed to run in continous mode so new data will be synced to the CMDB after it is discovered.

So the easiest way is to just keep discovering and it will happen.

If you want to force a manual adhoc sync you can do that by selecting the correct root nodes and using the Action menu, it’s described here in the docs.

Thanks for your input. As I have said, I am new to ADDM8x, I was wondering what it takes to see the software from a laptop on the CMDB after it has been synchronized. I see a lot of software from the server side, but not from desktop and laptop. When I check the host on the discovery side of things, I only see 3 software instance. What do I need to do to have all software from this laptop discovered and then synchronize to the CMDB? I guess the discovery side needs to be answer first, why I am not discoverying all software for this Host and other hosts of the same type. laptos and desktops.

ADDM is focused on server discovery and we don’t recommend it for desktop discovery, hence why there are few patterns for this type of software, We recommend the BBCA client based discovery for this.
