Cannot telnet to any AIX system

Telnet fails to authenticate against my AIX systems, even from the Tideway console.  After submitting my username and password the AIX host responds that I have entered an invalid username or password.  I do not have ssh set up yet so I am unable to scan my systems with this level of code.

Something to check:  Tideway foundation usually ships with a ‘uk’ keyboard map.  If you have special characters in your password this could be an issue (depending on your locale) as far as the console goes.  Simple test is to type the password as the username and make sure the echo looks correct.
