WIth version 8.x of Foundation, if one is using an appliance as a reporting and modeling appliance, do you need to copy the /var/record directory structure from the scanning appliance?  Also, do you need to bring the /var/record data over from the slave as well?

I know their are threads out here for 6.x and 7.x, but I have not seen any discussion on this with regards to 8.x

With 8.1 (and from 7.2 on) you should use the consolidation features to achieve this, hence the lack of discussion.

But what if I am in a situation where that is not possible?  What is the process?
