Using an API as an integration point

In mapping our network devices we’re running into the limits of the information stored on the devices themselves. A part of the information we’d like to see in ADDM (and in the future in our CMDB) is stored in the management software: Cisco Prime Infrastructure.

We’ve looked into ways of integrating the information from Prime Infrastructure, but it’s specifically not meant to be queried directly from its database. There’s an API available for this kind of purpose.

As far as I can tell ADDM only offers SQL as a method for integration points. It would be nice to also be able to obtain information from sources via other methods like an API. Could this be considered for a future release? Or are there other/better ways to obtain information from Prime Infrastructure?
