Tideway best practice is to use the system user only for configuration tasks which require system privileges. For normal operations you should log in as a user with more appropriate privileges. By default, the following additional users are configured in Tideway Foundation:
- admin
- appmodel
- discovery
- system - you are currently logged in as the system user.
Each user has an initial password in Tideway Foundation Community Edition; these are the same as the username. Tideway recommend that you change these passwords when you first log on as the system user. To do this:
- Click the Administration tab.
The Administration page is displayed.
- Click the Users icon in the security section.
The Users page is displayed.

- For each of the admin, appmodel, discovery, and system users, click the Set Password link.
The Set Password page is displayed.

- Enter the new password in each text entry field and click the Apply button.
- When you have changed the passwords for each user, you should logout from the system user account.
To do this, click the logout icon at the top right of the page. When you have logged out, the login page is displayed.
