Searching ADDM 8.1

The BMC Atrium Discovery integration (ADDM integration) creates the following nodes in BMC Atrium CMDB. Each member of the list below is a link to a page describing the search query used to extract the data from the BMC Atrium Discovery datastore and a mapping from BMC Atrium Discovery nodes and attributes to BMC Atrium CMDB nodes and attributes.

The mapping from BMC Atrium Discovery nodes and attributes to BMC Atrium CMDB nodes and attributes is not a one to one relationship. For example, on the BMC_ComputerSystem node, the power attribute is populated with information that comes from the following traversal:
#Hardware:ReferenceData:ReferenceData:HardwareReferenceData.power_watts.

The mapping is defined by a series of mapping files.

For each exported node (listed below), a list of mapping files controlling the export is shown. For each mapping file the following information is provided:

  • A Mapping file description.
  • The search string used to extract data from the BMC Atrium Discovery datastore.
  • The BMC Atrium Discovery Data and data type, and the BMC Atrium CMDB attribute name.

The BMC Atrium Discovery data type is one of:

  • attribute – a simple BMC Atrium Discovery node attribute.
  • compound – one or more BMC Atrium Discovery node attributes and or relationships which make up a BMC Atrium CMDB attribute.
  • constant – a constant value used to populate the BMC Atrium CMDB attribute.


The export creates the following nodes in the BMC Atrium CMDB.
