BMC Atrium Discovery uses a Pattern Language through which the creation and deletion of items in the data model is configured and extended. Technology Knowledge Updates contain packages of patterns. The Pattern Language describes how Software Instances and Business Application Instances are determined by grouping nodes and sequencing commands. The purpose of the pattern language is to abstract the complexity of the ECA rule engine and present a simple interface for non-programmers. Documentation for the Pattern Language is available here. Pattern Management The Package Management page enables you to upload packages to the appliance and activate or deactivate packages that are stored on the appliance. You can also download packages from the appliance. Packages are: TPL files which contain one pattern module. Zip archives of one or more TPL files. See Pattern management for more information.
